During my tenure at DX Design, I served as Senior UI Designer leading the product design of an enterprise-scale cross-platform rental and fleet management suite. The software coordinates thousands of pieces of industrial machinery, heavy equipment leases, driver handovers, client billing, and telemetry tracking across web and mobile devices.
Our core challenge was uniting four historically disconnected tools into a single coherent system: a field-ready mobile app for truck drivers, a central dispatch web dashboard, a customer self-service billing portal, and the Pyrometer telemetry tool for hardware temperature and sensor monitoring.
Synchronized Cross-Platform Architecture
We built an interconnected workflow ensuring that status changes recorded by field drivers on mobile instantly reflect on office dispatch monitors and customer billing statements in real time.
Pyrometer Telemetry & Hardware Health
Custom sensor telemetry interfaces provide operators with predictive thermal heat analysis, preventing catastrophic engine breakdowns before they occur on construction sites.
Thermal Overheat Alerts
Instant push notifications alert operators when hydraulic temperatures exceed 95°C, providing recommended cooldown protocols.
Damage & Photo Logs
Driver photo inspections are timestamped and GPS-locked, eliminating disputes over pre-existing equipment damage during lease handovers.
Cross-Platform Library
Built a comprehensive Figma token system guaranteeing visual harmony between native iOS/Android screens and desktop web dashboards.
Intuitive Design
Equipment rental operations were previously slowed down by paper handovers and disjointed spreadsheets. We designed high-contrast, outdoor-ready interfaces that eliminated friction.
"Smit unified four complex, disjointed software products into one seamless, elegant design system. The speed of our engineering handoff doubled under his leadership."
